Straits Settlements: Singapore. Four maps showing War Department property and military sites: (1) on Pulau Brani; (2-4) on Blakang Mati. Reference table to buildings on item (1); reference notes on colouring to all items. Compass indicators. Surveyed and drawn under the directions of Lieutenant Colonel J du T Bogle, Royal Engineers. These copies enlarged from 1:5,000-scale maps; item (1) zincographed at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1896; items (2-4) heliozincographed at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1897. A printed inscription on item (1) only states: 'For War Department purposes only'. MS title to each sheet: 'Provisional Skeleton Record Plan Pending Completion of plan to 1/500 Scale': MS additions reflecting this title; additions by W Osborn Keats: (1) 5 July 1905, (2-4) 18 July 1905. Each sheet signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sankey, Commanding Royal Engineer, Straits Settlements, 19 July 1905. Item (2) is damaged at the lower right-hand corner and lacks part of the signature.
