Ordnance Survey 1:2,500 County Series sheet London LIV: map of the area between Millbank prison in the north-east and Battersea Park in the south-west, on the Middlesex side showing parts of Chelsea (now in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea) and Westminster, and on the Surrey side showing parts of Battersea (now in the London Borough of Wandsworth) and Lambeth. Surveyed by Colonel Bayly, Royal Engineers, 1869; engraved at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, under the direction of Lieutenant Burke, Royal Engineers, 1873; published 31 May 1875. A printed inscription states that the map should be used solely for War Department purposes. Coloured MS additions highlight Chelsea Infantry Barracks and the Royal Army Clothing Depot, Pimlico. Corrected to 10 October 1879 and signed on that date by Captain Lowsley, Royal Engineers, and by Lieutenant Colonel R Dawson Scott, Commanding Royal Engineer, Home District.
