This reference was originally assigned to an accumulation of 42 maps and plans, mainly showing towns and fortresses in Spain and neighbouring countries at the time of the Peninsular War, and related papers. Following conservation work, they were placed under the map extract reference MR 651. After further conservation work in 1988 and 1989, the contents of MR 1/651 were divided between six portfolios and three rollers and reverted to the original reference; each of the nine parts should now be ordered individually.
