French position composing the late Blockade of Cadiz and the Island of Leon' [title partly missing due to damage]: map of the area between Rota and Chiclana de la Frontera, showing the nature of the terrain, towns and fortifications. Reference table to cultivated land, woodland, and works variously constructed by British, French and Spanish troops. Scale; 1 inch to 800 yards. Compass indicator; east at the top. Surveyed by Thomas Beer, Royal Military Surveyor and Draughtsman. Signed by Lieutenant Colonel C F Smith, Commanding Royal Engineer, Cadiz, March 1814. A pencilled note refers to a book of plans and sections of individual works; these drawings are not filed with this map.
