Ottoman Empire: Turkey: Kilitbahir. 'Plan of the Castle of Kelletbahar shewing... the Works proposed for its further Security and the Defence of the Passage of the Dardanelles 1799'. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. (Signed): Major Charles Holloway, Commanding Royal Engineer. Inscribed: 'Certified to be a true copy of the Plan signed by the Sultan's orders by the Minister at War and ordered to be put into immediate execution'; (signed) Brigadier General George F Koehler, Galata, 15 October 1799. This copy initialled: A R [?i.e. Alfred Rae, Royal Military Surveyor and Draughtsman, ?1807].
