Ottoman Empire: Turkey: Kale-i Sultaniye (now part of Çanakkale). 'Plan of the Castle of Sultanier shewing... the Works Proposed for its further Security and the Defence of the Passage of the Dardanelles 1799'. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Copied from an original map surveyed by George Pink, July 1799, and (signed) Major Charles Holloway, Commanding Royal Engineer. Inscribed: 'Certified to be a true copy of the Plan signed by the Sultan's orders by the Minister at War and ordered to be put into immediate execution'; (signed) Brigadier General George F Koehler, Galata, 15 October 1799. This copy made by J W Anderson, Royal Military Surveyor, July 1807.
