Malta and Gozo. Three items. (2-3) 'Plan of the Islands of Malta and Gozo': two copies of a map, each on two joined sheets, showing roads, rivers, the nature of the terrain, and place names. Reference note on place-name elements. Scale: 2 inches to 1 mile. Compass star; south-west at the top. Surveyed and drawn by Lieutenant [James] W Worsley, Royal Engineers, Valletta, 1824; orthography corrected by Bishop Casolani; engraved at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel James, Royal Engineers, 1856, with the outline by C Callaghan, writing by J E Ainslie and hills by W Archibald. [?Dedicated to] Sir William Reid, KCB, Governor and Commander-in-Chief. (1) Copy of the right-hand (north-western) sheet only of the same map, covering the islands of Gozo (Ghawdex) and Comino (Kemmuna). Dimensions: (1) 60 cm x 54 cm; (2-3) each 60 cm x 145 cm.
