Ionian Islands (now part of Greece): Corfu (Kerkyra). Four sheets of drawings of Fort Neuf. (1) Sections, apparently relating to the plan on item (4). Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240]. Drawn by Lieutenant Hogg, 13 September 1861, and corrected by him, 17 August 1863. (2) Sections relating to the plan on item (3). Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Signed by Lieutenant Hassard, 17 April 1847, and by Lieutenant Colonel Emmett, 6 May 1847; corrected by Lieutenant John Robert Hogg, Royal Engineers, 17 August 1863. (3) 'Plan... shewing the Works as completed transmitted with reference to Part 2. Sec 12 of the Code of Regulations'. Reference table to accommodation, armament, magazines and tanks. Scale: 1 inch to about 40 feet [1:480]. Compass indicator. Signed by Lieutenant F C Hassard, Royal Engineers, 4 February 1847, and by Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Emmett, Royal Engineers, 6 May 1847. A pencilled note states: '?Corrected to 14 Sept 1861'; a further note refers to a revised plan of 1863, probably item (4). Two overlays are affixed to the face of the plan: (i) 'Plan of revised Battery facing Fort Abraham'; (ii) a more detailed reference table to armaments. (4) Plan showing powder magazines, cisterns, aqueducts, accommodation and armaments. Reference tables. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Compass indicator. Compiled on the basis of a survey by Lieutenant Steward, 1858, and other plans in the Royal Engineers' Office, Corfu; compiled by 2nd Corporal John Clarke, Royal Engineers, 1859; drawn and coloured by Corporal J Miall, Royal Engineer; signed by Lieutenant Hogg, and by Major Francis Horatio de Vere, Royal Engineers, 19 August 1863. Dimensions: (1) 66 cm x 103 cm; (2) 98 cm x 145 cm; (3) 67 cm x 113 cm; (4) 101 cm x 68 cm. Originally accompanying a letter from Major de Vere, 18 August 1863.
