[?Kingdom of the Netherlands]: Nieuwpoort (now in Belgium). 'Plan de Nieuport': map showing fortifications, roads, canals, and inundation limits. Inscribed: 'N C Pl [Netherlands Committee Plan] No.3'.
The territory that is now Belgium was under French control from 1795-1814; from June 1815, following the Congress of Vienna, it became part of a united Netherlands until gaining its independence in January 1831. It is not certain whether this map dates from the former or the latter era.
