Minorca (Menorca; now part of Spain). 'Plan of the Fortifications of St. Philips [Fort San Felipe] Castle shewing the Entrance of the Mahon Harbour and the Peninsula of St. Anns or Cape Mola in the Island of Minorca shewing also the Batterys [sic] erected by the French at the siege in 1756 and when opened': three copies of a map. Reference tables to fortifications. Scale: 1 inch to 200 feet. Compass indicators. Item (1) drawn by William Tinling and signed by Lieutenant Colonel Patrick MacKellar, Commanding Royal Engineer, 28 February 1772. Items (2-3) copied by F Gould; item (3) dated 26 January 1775. The upper right-hand corner of item (3) is missing. Minorca, then under British control, was taken by France in 1756; it was restored to Great Britain in 1763.
