Sudan: Handub (near Suakin). Ground plan, top plan, front elevation of a blockhouse, with a site map; all on one sheet. Reference notes on construction. Scale: 1 inch to 5 feet [1:60] (elevation); 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120] (plans); 1 inch to about 400 yards [1:14,400] (map). Compass indicator. (Signed): Lieutenant R S Curtis, Royal Engineers, 24 May 1891; this copy traced by Lance Corporal E Liddiatt, Royal Engineers. A note states that this sheet was lithographed by the Intelligence Division of the War Office; no copy of the lithographed version is known to survive, however. A photograph of the blockhouse is filed with the map.
