Mauritius. Map of the coast from Trou aux Biches to Pointe du Tombeau, showing soundings in Turtle Bay (Baie aux Tortues) and Tombeau Bay (Baie du Tombeau). Scale: [?]3 inches to about 1 mile [part of the scale bar is missing]; an additional scale bar, in pencil, shows 1 inch to about 275 toises [approximately equivalent to 3 inches to 1 mile]. Compass indicator, in pencil. A pencilled border enclosing part of the coast seems to show the extent of a more detailed map of the environs of Tombeau and Turtle bays; [no such map has been identified among the holdings of The National Archives]. Stamped at the Royal Engineers' Office, Mauritius, 14 June 1875.
