The collection is incomplete as many of the records were destroyed by enemy action during the Second World War.
The Bahamas Imperial Lighthouse Service was controlled by the Marine Division of the Board of Trade until it was handed over to the Bahamas Government on 10 July 1973 (Independence Day).
