Captured ship: Le Fort of Bordeaux (master Peter Nolleau).
History: a French ship, bound from Bordeaux to Dublin with a pass, laden with wine but delayed on her passage; seized on 8/19 August 1745 on arrival at Dublin by the privateer Bessborough (Luke Mercer commanding).
Manuscript appeal papers: transcript of the proceedings in Ireland, in 2 volumes. A copy of the printed appeal survives in the New York Public Library , starting at page 337.
