The Bankruptcy Law Amendment Committee, under the chairmanship of His Honour Judge J B Blagden, was appointed by the President of the Board of Trade on 13 October 1955.
Its terms of reference were 'to consider and report what amendments are desirable in (1) the Bankruptcy Acts 1914 and 1926, more particularly in regard to the provisions relating to the discharge of bankrupts; and (2) the Deeds of Arrangement Act, 1914'.
