The Committee on Company Law Amendment, under the chairmanship of Mr. Justice Cohen, was appointed by the President of the Board of Trade on 26 June 1943.
Its terms of reference were 'to consider and report what major amendments are desirable in the Companies Act 1929, and, in particular, to review the requirements prescribed in regard to the formation and affairs of companies and the safeguards afforded for investors and for the public interest'.
The Committee's Report was published by HMSO in June 1945 as Cmd.6659. A copy is included in the series as Piece No. 20.
