Plaintiffs: Francis Parker merchant of St John's in the Isle of Thanet [Margate].
Defendants: Henry Rosse, claiming to be a pursuivant.
County: Kent.
Subject: being in Canterbury to take receipt of some £40, the plaintiff was arrested by Royce who claimed to have a warrant on grounds of high treason from the privy council; Royce imprisoned at the Saracen's Head inn in the High Street, and kept him six or seven days moving towards London, via Dartford and Southwark, always cozening money and rings from him, which he still keeps.
