A letter from Sai-shang-a to Hsü Kuang-chin: I have an intelligence report that the Taipings have been defeated at Ch'üan hsien (Kwangsi) and have fled to Yung-chou (Hunan) from which position they can threaten both Hunan and Kwangtung; Hsiao Ch'ao-kuei is reported to have been killed, and Feng Yün-shan and Lo Ya-wang seriously injured. 2 ff.
