From 1890 the transcripts and transactions ceased to be bound and were filed under the year in which the registry was closed.
As registries may be re-opened, for example when a ship is bought back from foreign ownership, papers are liable to temporary withdrawal and re-filing at a later date.
No explanation has been found as to why there are no transcripts for ships registries which both opened and closed within the year 1890.
