BT 100
1835-1999
This series comprises agreements and crew lists (with log books where they survive), for certain celebrated ships, kept by the Registrar General of Shipping and Seamen. Contains some records accessioned into this series in error and otherwise in BT 381.
With the exception of the Caronia (1948-1964), records for the period 1939-1950 have been temporarily retained by the Registry of Shipping and Seamen. For each of these ships most of the surviving documents have been preserved in this series. Where there are gaps please consult our research guide on 'Merchant Navy ships’ records: crew lists, musters and log books' for advice.
Researchers of celebrated ships should preferably search online, using the ship's official number and constraining the search to department BT
