Selection and destruction information

In 1959 and 1960 the Particular Instance Paper Committee decided that sheets from the Classified Index in this series containing particulars of all dissolved exempt private companies' files both preserved and destroyed, should be kept.(A private company was a company having less than 50 shareholders, whose shares were not offered to the public and which, providing certain conditions were fulfilled under s129 of the Companies Act 1948, was exempt from furnishing balance sheets and accounts).
