Incomplete file of Bench writs ('extracta brevium') and associated material sent to the Kent eyre of 1348.
This is evidently one of a number of such files sent to the eyre, and contains writs returnable between the quindene of Easter 1347 and the end of that year. The writs were summoned to the eyre on 11 October 1348, and returned to the Bench on 1 December 1348 (CCR 1346-9, pp.559, 577).
Since the files for this eyre were arranged by calendar year (c.f. JUST 4/4/11-12), it is clear that this file is incomplete, and the writs for Hilary term, and possibly further writs for the quindene of Easter, are yet to be identified.
