Largely complete file of Bench writs ('extracta brevium') and associated material sent to the Kent eyre of 1348.
This is evidently one of a number of such files sent to the eyre, and contains writs returnable in all four terms of 1341. The writs were summoned to the eyre on 11 October 1348, and returned to the Bench on 1 December 1348 (CCR 1346-9, pp.559, 577).
The file seems to be largely complete, since it covers all the main return days within the four terms, but isolated writs may have become detached, and there may be some missing for return days between the quindene of Trinity and the octave of Michaelmas inclusive.
