Broken file of Bench writs ('extracta brevium') and associated material sent to the Nottinghamshire eyre of 1329-30.
This is evidently one of eleven such files sent to the eyre (c.f. E 101/337/8), this being the latest, covering the period from the accession of Edward III until the beginning of the eyre. The remains of two other files, containing writs from the reign of Edward II, are now at JUST 4/3/2 and JUST 4/3/3.
Although broken and with material missing, the majority of the file survives in its original order, on sections of the original thong and with return day dividers in place.
