Eyre file, Nottinghamshire.
Refiled Bench writs ('extracta brevium') and associated material sent to the Nottinghamshire eyre of 1329-30.
This is evidently one of eleven such files sent to the eyre (c.f. E 101/337/8), and contains writs originally returnable in the Bench at return days between Easter one month 17 Edward II (1324) and the quindene of the Nativity of St John the Baptist 18 Edward II (1325). The surviving writs appear to be in their original order, complete with return day markers. However, since the file almost certainly originally covered the whole of 17 and 18 Edward II, further material is presumably still missing.
The remains of another file from the reign of Edward II is now at JUST 4/3/2, while that for the beginning of the reign of Edward III, immediately prior to the eyre, is at JUST 4/4/6.
