Refiled Bench writs ('extracta brevium') and associated material sent to the Nottinghamshire eyre of 1329-30.
The writs in this bundle evidently form the remains of the first of the eleven files of Bench writs sent to the eyre (c.f. E 101/337/8), under an order of 3 September 1329 (CCR 1327-30, p.493). The writs were originally returnable in the Bench at the octave of Michaelmas 2 Edward II (1308), and as such presumably once formed part of the file of writs returned in the first two years of Edward II's reign.
The remains of the equivalent file for 17-18 Edward II is now at JUST 4/3/3, while that for the beginning of the reign of Edward III, immediately prior to the eyre, is at JUST 4/4/6.
