Submission by Edward Fletcher, Director of the Division of Industrial and Human Relations at Associated Industrial Consultants Ltd, a firm of management consultants, in the form of a paper prepared for a seminar on industrial engineering for the Institution of Civil Engineers of Ireland, analysing the psychology and sociology of 'man at work', and describing how management can make use of discoveries in the human sciences with advantage both to efficiency and good industrial relations. Also discusses areas of concern to management where problems are susceptible to a joint solution.
