Description

11 Papers (literary work). Siam. Journey from Bangkok to Chiengmai and back. Diary. Typewritten.

Includes 2 photographs depicting: Siam: ruined Buddist temple, details of carved door to temple. Dated 1885-1886.

Note
1 bdle. An expanded version of the account in the travel diary (P.R.O.30/33/17/13-15). Prepared, with an introduction, for the press; with some printed extracts of the publication. Part appeared, as "A Journey in Siam, 1885-6", in The Arrow (of Buenos Aires) about 1892 and a condensed version was converted into a paper, which was read before the Society of Arts on 12 January 1892 (Journal of the Society of Arts, xl. 182-197; of. 849-856).
