1 item extracted from ADM 1/4543. 2 feathers of the Black-capped Kingfisher (Halcyon pileata), one of which was found in the Captain's Log of HMS Dolphin in 1955 and the other given to the Public Record Office by the British Museum in 1980 for identification and comparison. An MS note on an envelope reads 'A Curious Feather found among the records ... '. The original feather was collected by HMS Dolphin in 1767 and removed from Admiralty papers dated 1833.
