Description

Despatches from the lieutenant governor and president of Grenada, mostly forwarded by the governor of the Windward Islands, together with correspondence from 'offices' (Government departments and other organisations) and individuals on matters relating to Grenada. Despatches are described at item level; correspondence from offices and individuals is not, and correspondents and subjects are as follows:

  • Admiralty (Lieutenant Snell asked to explain his conduct to Miss Kennedy the deputy post mistress);
  • Home Office (report on prison regulations);
  • Law Officers (report on Probate Act);
  • Treasury (reference to legislation; decision on memorial of Elizabeth Cruikshanks and others; Steam Navigation Act; memorial of Augustine Guis for escheated property; memorial of R Gibbs and Mary Stephenson for escheated property).

Individuals:

  • Henry Berkeley (post of Provost Marshal);
  • Messrs Cox & Company (Lieutenant Governor Doyle's salary);
