Description

Offices and Individuals. Letters from various government offices (departments) and individuals most of which relate to the despatches sent from the governor in CO 321/19, CO 321/20, CO 321/21, CO 321/22, CO 321/23, and CO 321/24. Correspondents and subjects covered are as follows:

  • Admiralty (men of HMS Eurydice imprisoned in Barbados; visit of Governor to various islands in HMS Tourmaline);
  • Agents (Central Sugar Factory Company, St Lucia; government land leased to St Lucia Central Sugar Factory; construction of new water works in Grenada);
  • Council Office (removal of prisoners between St Vincent and Tobago);
  • Board of Trade (distressed British seamen in Barbados; Captain of the Mary Anne Johnstone);
