Description

Copies of contracts, specifications and reports (includes Capt Denison on Bermuda). Manuscripts volume presented to the library of the Institution of Civil Engineers in April 1879 by John Scott Tucker [see Minutes of Proceedings of Institution of Civil Engineers vol 71 (ZLIB 21/71), pp 418-420. ] Folios 178-183 are missing:

  • Great Western Railway: Box Tunnel [c 1836-1837].
  • Staines: stone bridge over River Thames (opened 1832).
  • Bermuda: naval works etc. (1842-1843).
  • Mamaica: growth of coral (1844).
  • Malta: naval works etc. (1848-1850).
  • Miscellaneous details including specification of a steam barge.
  • Malta: engine house for new dock (1867).
  • Barbados: public buildings in Bridgetown (1871).
  • Great Western Railway: Contract 2S (railway from Ardington to Uffington, Berks.).
  • Malta: hydraulic lift graving dock (1870).
