Ravenser Odd was a short-lived island in the mouth of the River Humber. It rose from the sea in the early 13th century and had sunk beneath the waves by 1360.

The Distribution of Business Directory was produced from 1990, giving details of the functions carried out by each division, broken down into small units and including information on the individual staff responsibilities. It is the responsibility of Establishment Division of the Welsh Office whose function was to oversee Establishment, Personnel, Records Management and Accommodation.
