Description

The files in this series cover all aspects of the work of the Board of Trade and successor's regional office for Wales, including a wide range of general and geographical policy matters, together with some casework, concerning industrial development and employment in Wales. They deal mainly with the designation of industrial development areas, the establishment of industrial estates and government-sponsored factories and the redeployment of labour in the South Wales coal industry. The series also includes files relating to the Aberfan tip disaster of 1966 and its aftermath.
