Description

Despatches from Frederick Walker Kitchener, governor of Bermuda, together with letters from 'offices' (Government departments and other organisations) and from individuals relating to Bermuda. Despatches are described at item level; other correspondence is not, and correspondents and subjects are as follows:

  • Admiralty (marriages of Admiralty employees, central hospital, lease of islands, marriage of civilian dockyard employee);
  • Crown Agents (dredger for St George's channel, publication in journal, security given by Bank of Bermuda);
  • Foreign Office (fire on Margherita);
  • Board of Trade (wireless telegraphy);
  • War Office (improvement of St George's harbour);
  • Colonial Office (dredger Cerne);
  • Local Government Board (protection from accidents in public buildings, use of motor cars as public conveyances);
  • Registrar General (report of Colonial Registrar General, 1908);
  • Royal Mail Steam Packet Company (dredging of Port Hamilton).
