Description

Despatches from Governor Sir Henry Le Geary and Governor Sir Robert Macgregor Stewart as well as letters from various offices (government departments and other organiations) and individuals on matters related to Bermuda. Despatches are described at item level; correspondence from officers and individuals is not. Correspondents and subjects for offices and individuals are as follows:

  • Admiralty (naval reserve in Bermuda harbours, steamer service via New York, wireless telegraphy, loan of dredger, value of government stores imported, labour for naval works, importation of naval stores);
  • Crown Agents (St Georges Harbour);

  • Superintendent Public Gardens (fly catching lizard of Jamaica);
  • Board of Agriculture (fly catching lizard of Jamaica);
  • Registrar General (marriage of Salvation Army Officer);
  • Committee of Imperial Defence (garrison of Bermuda).
