Letters from various government offices (departments) and individuals, most of which relate to the despatches sent from the governor in CO 37/186 and CO 37/187 and many of which were sent by former Convict Department employees and their relatives.

Offices: Admiralty, Colonial Agents General, Council Office, Foreign Office, Home Office, Land Board, British and North American Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, Post Office, Civil Service Commission, Board of Trade, Treasury, and War Office.
