Despatches from Governor Sir James Cockburn (items 1-6), Acting Governor William Smith (items 7-18), and Governor William Lumley (items 19-28) as well as letters from various offices (government departments and other organisations) and individuals on matters related to Bermuda. Despatches are described at item level; correspondence from officers and individuals is not. Correspondents and subjects for offices and individuals are as follows:

- Admiralty (appointment of Sir William Lumley as Vice Admiral);
- Piracy Commission (draft commission for trial of offences at Bermuda);
- Privy Council Office (drafts of a commission and instructions for Sir William Lumley);
- Navy Office (a passage to Bermuda for Rev George Coster);
- Treasury (arrangements in the Custom Department at Hamilton and St George's, payment of Governor Cockburn's private secretary, payment to Colonial Secretary Robert Kennedy for compensation in lieu of land);
