Description

Correspondence received from Offices (Government departments and other organisations) and Individuals on subjects concerning the Leeward Islands. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

Offices:

  • Admiralty (Antigua: improvement of St John's Harbour, proceedings of HMS Tourmaline; Barbuda: landing of naval officers from HMS Canada);
  • Crown Agents (General: sale of obsolete stamps and postcards, appointments in prison service, appointment of Mr O'Farrell as Prison Officer, purchase of ten stud sires; Antigua: pipes for Wallings Reservoir, damage sustained to new steam launch, extension of Mr R Mitchell's leave, matron for Girls Training School, improvement of St John's Harbour, appointment of Mr Horner as Bandmaster, dredger for harbour works, Inscribed Stock Act 1892; Dominica: agreement with Mr J J Jones the curator of the Botanical Station, enlargement of Dominica maps, steamers for coasting service with plans enclosed, land and timber concession syndicate, steamer for coasting service; St Kitts: issue of loan, meeting of bill out of loan, further insurance of Victoria J Reed; Barbuda: development of Mr Dougall's proposals);
