Germany: Prisoners, containing:

Appreciation of General Ewart's work in connexion with the repatriation of British prisoners. General Ewart served as President of the Inter-Allied Commission for the Repatriation of Russian Prisoners at Berlin.

Berthold Hailer requests a quarterly life certificate of his son, Gustav Hailer, who is interned at Ahmednagar Camp, India. The certificate would enable him to draw a superannuation allowance during the life of his son.

Repatriation of German civilians interned at Pietermaritzburg in South Africa.

Arrest of Thomas Brown of Hamburg from the troop-ship Stamboul in the estuary of the Thames. Brown, 'very possibly a British subject' was suspected of treason. Allegations that he acted as a German agent and served in the German Army whilst in Turkey .

The German Government's representative at Spa requests formally the release of Thomas Brown.

Repatriation of German prisoners interned in New South Wales and Natal.

Claims for compensation by German civilians in Cape Town, in connexion with the riots of May 1915.

Compensation for accidents disabling prisoners. Cases of:

  • Heinrich Barghorn who lost part of a finger in Kapuskasing Camp, Ontario, while operating a saw-mill.
  • Karl Conradi who lost an eye at Pattishall.
  • Johannes Olejniczak, at Fort Napier, Pietermaritzburg.

Payments to enemy prisoners in Japan.

Rumours about the existence of a British camp for prisoners of war at Karaisi, Salonica. The camp was reported by a repatriated German Sergeant: Julius Greve who requests that a neutral inspection be arranged.

Deutsche Bank alleges that remittances to civilians prisoners interned in Egypt have been suspended.

Identity of 2nd Lieutenant William Spencer of Bristol, prisoner in Germany and recently repatriated. Another man, imprisoned in Munich, now claims his identity. The second man seems to be Captain Ernald Baron Maldini de Calderara from the 2nd Bersaglieri Brigade Firenze.

Protection of German prisoners from accidents sustained while working in English companies in France (with a list of dead men in fatal accidents).
