Germany: Prisoners, including:

Repatriation of prisoners (British and other nationalities), including:

  • Shipping arrangements: proposed use of German passenger ships for Italian prisoners.
  • Report by the Divisional Naval Transport Officer at Copenhagen on repatriation of prisoners through Denmark.
  • List compiled by Prussian Ministry of War on German camps cleared of British prisoners of war.
  • Private Michael Samson of the 1st Gordon Highlanders Regiment, captured at Arras in 1918: traced to Preussen Holland.
  • Thomas Wilson, taken from boat Dryden in 1915: traced to Preussen Holland.
  • Private F Carpenter of the 2nd Middlesex Regiment: retention in Reserve Hospital in Rawitsch hospital.
  • Letter (with enclosure of German War Office memorandum) from Sergeant B B Cubitt, War Office, to General R C B Haking urging immediate repatriation of all British prisoners of war.
  • Memorandum featuring brief history of the repatriation of British prisoners of war including statistics on number and transport of prisoners.

Alleged violations of Armistice Convention, including:

  • André Joubert: case of French prisoner's prolonged detention in Dusseldorf .
  • Charles Inskipp: compelled to work in mine after Armistice.
  • Albert Hesford: compelled to work in mine after Armistice.

Investigation of complaints regarding ill treatment, including:

  • Sub-Lieutenant Malcolm Watson at Clausthal: German response to allegation of ill-treatment.
  • Case of Second Lieutenant Gerald Colheeny, 1/5 Kings Own Royal Lancasters, shot dead by a German Sentry and Lieutenant Joseph G Culver, 10th Essex Regiment, wounded at Stralsund Dänholm: court of enquiry report and statements by witnesses.

Reports on conditions in prisoner of war camps, including:

  • Prisoner of war camp at Graudenz, by Surgeon Lieutenant R P Langford Jones.
