Austria-Hungary: Prisoners, including:

Issues relating to camp inspections, the repatriation of prisoners and related matters, including:

  • Copy of a report sent to the Austro-Hungarian Foreign Office on the influenza epidemic at Verdala Camp, Malta, with a list (in docket no.478) of prisoners who died, with brief comments on the circumstances of their deaths.
  • Petition from the Austro-Hungarian Committee, Knockaloe Privilege Camp, Isle of Man, requesting their urgent repatriation.
  • Report by Mr J H Andersson, the Acting Swedish Consul General at Sydney, on the internment camp at Molonglo, New South Wales, Australia, with a list (in docket no.723) of Austro-Hungarian subjects interned in the camp.
  • Confirmation by the Home Office that interned enemy civilians were being repatriated as quickly as available shipping would allow.
  • Report by Lieutenant Colonel Lundblad, of the Swedish Legation in London, on a visit of inspection to the Nell Lane Military Hospital, Manchester.
  • Request from the Acting Consul General in Sydney for the urgent repatriation of Austrian and Hungarian subjects interned in the Commonwealth of Australia.
