Turkey. Prisoners, including:

Sinking of HM Yacht Zaida in the Gulf of Alexandretta, including:

  • Names of the officers and crew (in docket no.184201) interned at Adana.
  • Mr E S Bellasis: enquiry about his son, Mr E M Bellasis, interned at Adana.
  • Despatch of letters from the nineteen survivors from the ship to their relatives in the United Kingdom via the American Consulate at Mersina.
  • Information on the treatment of four officers from the ship (names in docket no.227848) interned at Angora; subsequent transfer of three of the officers to Castamouni.

Major Kiamil Bey, reportedly interned at Katia: enquiries by the Turkish authorities about his welfare and whereabouts; information that he was interned at Sidi Bishr in Egypt.

Threat of reprisals by the Turkish Government for the alleged internment of Muslim women in camps in England and France; information from the War Office that no Muslim women were interned in the United Kingdom.
