Turkey. Prisoners, including:

Arrest of Mr James Catheral and other British subjects in Constantinople, including:

  • Request by the British Government for the names of those arrested and the reasons for the arrests.
  • Information that the arrests were a reprisal for the arrest of Turkish subjects at Mitylene, and names of the eight British subjects arrested (in docket no. 140417).
  • Proposal for the release of the Turkish subjects arrested at Mitylene.
  • Report of the release of four of the British subjects held in Constantinople.
  • Message from Mrs Catheral and her family to Mrs Blair in Edinburgh.
  • Request for Mr William Blair to pay the premium on Mr Catheral's life insurance policy.
  • Message from Mrs Blair to Mrs Catheral and her family in Constantinople.
  • Request by the Turkish Government for information on the whereabouts of the four Turkish subjects from Mitylene following their release.
