Description

Turkey. Prisoners, including:

Threat of reprisals by the Turkish authorities following rumours of a plan for British, French and Russian detachments to take Turkish hostages; denial of the plan by the British Government.

Enquiry from Burroughs Wellcome and Company regarding a request for medical equipment from Kiazim, a prisoner interned in Malta.

Dr Nishan Y Baghdigian, interned in India: enquiries regarding his release.

Madame Cazes, an Ottoman subject resident in Constantinople: refusal of permssion for her to join her daughter in England, and question of whether remittances could be sent to her as an enemy subject.

Mr Arthur Vere: arrangements regarding the payment of rent for his property in Constantinople; assistance provided by Mss Eveline Whitaker.

Muhammad Ghalib Effendi: enquiry about his property at Hyderabad, India.

Mr Ryan: request for the lease of his house in Pera to be renewed, and for a suitable European tenant to be found.

British Seamen's Hospital at Constantinople: provision of accounts.
