- FO 336/1 and 2 contain entries of reports from R.W. Stevens, the first vice-consul (appointed on 30 Oct. 1840), of date prior to his arrival at Samsun in July 1841. The entries in the two volumes duplicate each other. From FO 336/2 many subsequent folios have been removed and many others are blank.
