Most of the records in this series of North and South Wales Circuit, Chester and North Wales Division and predecessors miscellanea relate to financial business particularly as regards fees and costs. Many predate the creation of the circuit in 1830 and are records of the prothonotary of the Palatinate of Chester. There is also a fee book detailing particulars of copies made of probates etc. in the Consistory Court of Chester, 1785 to 1791; an appearance book concerning civil pleas in the palatinate, 1778 to 1784; and a volume setting out the results of appeals by convicted persons to the Court of Criminal Appeal, 1914 to 1942.
