Assizes: Northern and North-Eastern Circuit: Miscellanea

This series of Northern and North Eastern Circuit records includes miscellaneous correspondence of the clerk of assize, coroner's inquisitions, jury lists, returns in criminal cases and pleadings etc. arising from civil actions heard at nisi prius.

The series is still largely unsorted except by date.

The series contains a significant numbers of items from the seventeenth century, which have clearly become detached from the files or bundles to which they originally belonged. Until it proves possible to undertake substantial editorial and conservation work on them, only a rough indication of the contents of each piece can be given in the list.
