This series consists of reference files compiled by, and for the use of, sections of the Exchequer and Audit Department responsible for the audit of specific account or subjects. For the purpose of discharging their audit responsibilities the staff of the Exchedquer and Audit Department operated in small groups or sections. Each section was responsible for the audit of specific accounts or subjects and accordingly was required to compile a set of reference files as a permanent aid to their work.
Each file contains a contents index.
