Description

Accounts in bankruptcy causes kept by the Bank of England under the Bankruptcy Act of 1832. With one small exception they extend only from 1832 to 1836, an Accountant in Bankruptcy being appointed in 1835. They consist of journals, ledgers, balance and deposit books. Until 1836, when one general account was created, the accounts relate to individual bankrupts.
